pie Coronavirus Policy

pie Coronavirus Policy

31st March 2020

The Government published their plans for dealing with the Coronavirus. A link to this information can be found here:

We have written the below as a helpful guide. We are taking the British Government’s assessment of the global situation as our guide for our events as well as Public Health England’s information for our day to day work.

The Government guidance relating to Coronavirus is constantly being updated. The below link has a huge amount of information on it including links to other sites with even more information. Please read as much as possible to find out how you are affected and what you can do about it:

  • We ask that attendees on our events please check in advance if they have visited any of the countries listed on the links above and only continue with their planned participation on a pie event if safe to do so.

Insurance:

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has produced information on travel insurance implications following the outbreak. If you have any further questions about your cover or would like further reassurance, you should contact your travel insurance provider.

We don’t sell insurance, but ask with every registration that you have your travel insurance in place asap. However, every insurance policy is different and you have to check what the terms are of your particular insurance policy.

You may be able to claim if you choose not to attend an event depending on your insurance. It is highly unlikely you will be able to claim for cancellation unless it is against Government advice. Please check your own insurance.

On Our Events

Recognising how important hygiene is in passing on disease, we have always had hand washing gels available at all of the stops on our events and in our support vans. We encourage people to use these alcohol based gels as frequently as they like when out on the ride.

In addition, government advice is to wash hands thoroughly and as often as possible. As we stay in hotels overnight and often stop in bars and village halls for our refreshment stops, there will be plenty of opportunity to wash hands with water along the way. We also use compostable single use cups, plates and cutlery; recyclable tablecloths, napkins, etc to keep all of our cyclists healthy.

The Coronavirus global pandemic has hit every industry. For pie, this means we are faced with huge logistical challenges to comply with Government guidelines whilst delivering the best for our clients.

We are working hard to keep events in the 2020 calendar. Please bear with us as we work through this.

In the meantime, please check out the pie Coronavirus Policy.
