Will 2022 be more of the same? We hope so!

Out of Adversity Comes Opportunity” so said Benjamin Franklin. And that opportunity, was to explore the UK. With Covid making foreign travel all but impossible and cycling being the largest growth sport in 2020/2021, the National Parks and iconic destinations of the UK became our clients’ playground of choice.

The climbs of the Yorkshire Tour which have so often featured on bucket lists were popular choices with our Action Medical Research and 40Tude riders enjoying the likes of Fleet Moss and Cragg Vale. Enjoy the 40Tude video here.

In Wales, GroceryAid’s Welsh Coast to Coast was hugely successful with numbers higher than ever. Corporate one day client entertainment and networking budgets, which previously might have been spent on dinners, turned to cycling to network.

Overbury went from golf days and dinners to exploring regional highlights important to their business with small fully supported rides to look after their guests in the Surrey Hills and Cheddar Gorge. Teddy’s Wish, previously relying on fundraising dinners for high net worth individuals, raised over £50k on their first ever bike ride.

It wasn’t just about guided bike rides though. 100s of people walked 20 miles through London overnight in support of CALM, the suicide prevention charity. 100s more, Unilever employees, walked a marathon along the Thames Path for LOORG (Liverpool Ocular Oncology Research Group).

The pull of the great outdoors, whether you are walking or cycling, ticks all the boxes for accessibility, fresh air, and with just one day away from work, convenience.

Having had a taste of how beautiful the UK can be, it’s hard to shake off the draw of just how great the riding is here. 2022 will see the length of England and Scotland traversed in all their glory in a Land’s End to John O’Groats ride for IBC.

Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust will be cycling from their Scottish centre in Largs to their Isle of Wight centre, just 2 days short of LEJOG. Even a microcosm of these mighty journeys, in a one day event, offers the chance to explore beautiful countryside on a bike or on two feet.

Many of our events will be returning to their European stomping grounds though with the ever popular London to … Paris/Bruges/Amsterdam etc trips being joined by rides in the Alpes Maritimes, the Alsace region of France and even the Black Forest of Germany.
