24 Apr Spring has Sprung! (Almost…)
Now that spring and the longer days are here we hope you are enjoying more time on your bike. If you’re attending one of our rides now’s the time to get out and train! As we head towards full event season we have started doing event recces.
We’re always trying to demonstrate high social and environmental performance so as a company we look at ways we can reduce our carbon footprint and help the environment. As part of this analysis we plan many of our recces to be fully electric. To date we have done carbon neutral recces for London to Brussels, Surrey Hills, Thames Path, The Cotswolds and the Isle of Wight. At the moment, we have a Coast to Coast recce going on to make sure all the routes are safe and work without contributing to environmental decline.
With the UCI Spring Classics well underway we thought it would be a good time to share some of the rides we’ve done, and are planning to do, on some of the most famous routes:
2023 sees GroceryAid venture into The Netherlands and Belgium for the first time on their London to Brussels ride. This gives us a great opportunity to do parts of the Tour de Flanders Route, won this year by Slovenian cyclist, Tadej Pogačar, who won the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Tour de France. We will pick up the route in Poeke for a short stint, rejoin it in Grammene and stay on it through Machelen before heading off towards the finish in Brussels.
Back in 2014 The Danny Fullbrook Fearless Foundation took on the famous 290km Milan – San Remo Classic, spreading it over 2 days. They followed this up in 2015 by taking part of the Paris-Nice ride as part of their journey going from Aix-les-Bains to Nice.
If you are attending any of our events or might do so in the future, we are delighted to share with you that we are now a member of ABTOT. This means that all of your money is protected when you book with us. We have always complied with the Package Travel Directives which state operators must protect clients’ monies – make sure you check your operator is compliant.
