Day 1
You’ll arrive at the start hotel to meet the pie crew and register for the event. Our guides will be on
hand to check your bike and help to fix any mechanicals. Depending on group size, we are able to offer multiple route options, meaning the ride remains accessible and appropriate for most levels of cyclist.
Over dinner there will be a welcome and briefing before everyone heads to bed to dream of cycling.
Day 2 – Carlisle to Tynemouth
Our guides will lead the way out of Carlisle and before long we’ll be in the beautiful (and flat!)
countryside, cycling in our groups along quiet country lanes.
The flat country lanes don’t last forever as you soon approach the North Pennines. There are some hills to tackle whilst you cycle through Muckle Moss National Nature Reserve and head towards your lunch stop for the day.
Our support crew will be on hand to set up welcome refreshment stops during the day, as well as transporting your luggage from start to finish.
The afternoon riding is undulating as you pick up the River Tyne and follow the river into the city of Newcastle. You will follow the river cycle path to avoid some of the busier city streets and cycle under the Tyne Bridge. The ride finishes at the Tynemouth Priory and Castle, a medieval priory and fortress overlooking the North Sea, where everyone can toast their achievements.
Coaches will transport cyclists back to Carlisle, and our team will drive ahead with your bikes, ready for your onward travel home. We can arrange for accommodation in Carlisle/Tynemouth if required. Depending on group size, we are able to offer multiple route options, meaning the ride remains accessible and appropriate for all levels of cyclist.
