Day 1 Travel
Challengers arrive at the hotel at their leisure. You’ll have a chance to meet the pie crew and go through to your bike fit with our mountain bike guides if appropriate.
We rise for an early breakfast before moving through to the safety briefing. It’s then out on the bikes in our guided groups as we set off from the coastal town of Ravenscar. The route heads out and up towards the North York Moors, following sections of the River Derwent and along forest paths ideal for mountain biking.
There will be a mid-ride refreshment stop, before continuing our way south towards the transition zone in the rural village of Hackness.
A hike-only option is also available for those not wishing to ride.
There’s time for a spot of lunch, and then we swap two wheels for two feet as we being the next stage of the Challenge – the afternoon hike.
Our hike guides will take over from this point and lead you back over the Moors. There are a few challenging hills between us and the finish line, but as we approach the coast, the sea air will fill our lungs and provide that extra energy boost to keep us going!
A celebratory drink awaits in the garden of the hotel, followed by a wonderful meal in the evening.
Breakfast is taken at your leisure, before departing for home.
