UK ABBOTT CYCLE RIDE 2024 – SUNDAY 30TH JUNE

UK ABBOTT CYCLE RIDE 2024 – SUNDAY 30TH JUNE

  • June 30, 2024
    7:00 am - 5:00 pm

A one-day cycle ride open to Abbott employees from Maidenhead to Abingdon. This will be a great day out for all cyclists being able to choose between two different routes – a linear journey from Maidenhead (50 miles) to Abingdon or a loop to and from Abingdon (30 miles).

Overview:

The linear ride will start at the Maidenhead site and head to Ipsden, Wallingford for the first stop. Here there will be hot and cold drinks provided as well as some light snacks. The loop route will be a circular route starting and ending at Abingdon with a stop at Chilton, around about halfway. This will also be the 2nd stop for those on the longer ride. The route will meander through the Chilterns offering some epic riding and fantastic views.

There will be coach transport provided for those on the longer ride from the Abingdon Office to the Maidenhead Office. Your bikes will also be transported to the start at Maidenhead by pie.

Cereal bars will be provided at Maidenhead before departure.

Once the cycle ride is completed and you have arrived at the Abingdon finish, there will be food and refreshments provided by Abbott.

More information on timings etc will be provided closer to the time. There are some approximate timings further down the page.

Route:

This is a road cycle route with open roads so you will be sharing the road with other road users. The best kind of bike to use is a road bike. If you have a hybrid bike it will be fine but mountain bikes will be slow and heavy on a route that is all tarmacked roads.  If you are thinking of using an e-bike get in touch with info@pieevents.co.uk for our e-bike information.
