Set amongst the beautiful Brecon Beacons, this one day event sees Challengers spend the morning tackling some of the famous mountain bike trails in the area, before then hiking up and over Pen y Fan, and finishing back at Brecon.

A day mountain biking and hiking in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. Various difficulties of guided routes will be offered on each leg, and full mechanical support will be provided, along with regular refreshment stops and of course the famous scenery of the Brecon Beacons acting as a backdrop!

- Total Distance: up to 40km cycling, and 18km hiking
Day 1 – Friday 12th May
Challengers arrive at the hotel at their leisure. Registration / bike fittings with the pie crew in the evening.
Day 2 – Saturday 13th May
The day begins with a briefing at the hotel, before heading off in our groups along a choice of routes for a challenging ride in the varied terrain of the Brecon Beacons. Beautiful views of the Talybont Reservoir will welcome those who make it to the top of the climb!
The transition area signals the end of the cycling section and our support crew will be on hand to serve you some well-earned refreshments to replenish your energy and prepare for the next stage of the challenge – the hike.
The hike itself will take around 4 or 5 hours, where we travel up the famous Roman Road and over the ridge line back to Brecon. Various route options will be offered of different difficulties with the toughest option scaling Pen y Fan – the highest peak in South Wales.
Of course, you will be led in your group by an experienced local guide at all times.
Don’t forget to leave enough energy for the final climb up to the finish line and a well-deserved celebratory drink!
That evening a celebratory meal will be held at the hotel!
Day 3 – Sunday 14th May
Breakfast is taken at your leisure, before departing for home.
Looking After You
The event is fully supported with guides at a ratio of one guide to 8 cyclists / hikers, support vehicles, tour leaders and medics. On the day you will receive breakfast at the hotel before setting off, a mid-morning pit stop, a substantial lunch and of course a celebratory meal in the evening! Accommodation will also be provided on the Friday and Saturday nights.
