Bikes will be taken out to the start by pie in advance of the ride.
Day 2: Cardona – Berga
The “Cafe con Leche” route offers wide open vistas with drop down into the valleys giving you a view across of the stunning next day’s climbs. The “Espresso” groups will head further west to join the road north towards the Col de Jou, a Vuelta climb.
The “Espresso” group have the option of sticking to the Vuelta roads, or taking on the big climb of the day taking you to the foot of a ski slope! As we arrive on the outskirts of Berga you can look down on its prime position nestled in the foothills of the “pre” Pyrenees.
Dinner and accommodation will be in the centre of Berga.
Day 3: Berga – Vic
This morning we will all go out on the amazing high roads to those used by the Vuelta a España. There are stunning views as we skirt around small hilltop villages crammed on to promontories and looking down over forests and crags. The “Espresso” group will turn up into the hills, and the “Cafe con Leche” group will enjoy the lower route through Vic.
Dinner and accommodation will be in the centre of Vic.
Day 4: Vic – Pals
Our final day in the saddle, and today the “Cafe con Leche” group head out of Vic, across the largely flatter, agricultural area peppered with tiny hamlets, in a more or less direct trajectory to the coast. The “Espresso” route winds its way through the lovely hills of Les Gavarres just outside Gerona. The final part of the day is the beautiful ride to the coast where we enjoy a dip in the sea before our celebration meal.
Accommodation in Pals.
Day 5: Return to UK
A morning of relaxation (flight time dependent) before transferring back to Barcelona for return flights to the UK.
