  • Hand On Your Back Tour of Mallorca
    November 2, 2022 - November 6, 2022
    8:00 am - 5:00 pm

2nd – 6th NOVEMBER 2022

In November 2022 we will be heading off to Mallorca to bask in the sunshine, glory in the hills and luxuriate in the Med. The Tour of Mallorca will follow pie’s usual successful formula – daily guided rides, optional route choices, support vehicle, 3 food and drink stops a day, post ride food, excellent evening meals and accommodation along the way, airport transfers and, of course amazing cycling.

Mallorca is Spain’s largest island at about 110km in length and roughly 76km wide from north to south. It has 550kms of coastline with roads that hug them and give you views you can only dream of. The north west coast is made up of the Tramuntana mountains which have become a cycling Mecca, and off season training ground for all the major national teams. The Vuelta Ciclista a Mallorca is held here every year in February and is considered an important race for teams in their preparation for the summer season.

Dates: November 2nd – 6th 2022

Cost per person: £2500

Includes all food from lunch on day of arrival, single room accommodation, jerseys x 1, post ride snacks, airport to hotel transfers return, guide, alternative route options per day, etc. Excludes flights and bike transfer on flight.

  • Exploring the beautiful island of Mallorca
  • Discovering the Tramuntana mountains and it’s lure for cyclists
  • Enjoying excellent food and accommodation

Day 1, November 2nd

Collection from Palma de Mallorca airport and transfer to the Hotel:

Lunch, bike assembly and then set off for a ½ day ride to get the legs spinning.

We have chosen a hotel in the centre of the island from which you can go in any direction to ride during the day or to eat in the evenings. Binissalem is the nearest village you will find on a map. Each day starts with breakfast at the hotel and the riding starts from the hotel.

We will have a leisurely stop along the way before returning to the hotel.

Dinner provided at hotel.

Day 2, November 3rd

A full day out with our sights set on Col de Soller, Puig Major, and an optional descent and subsequent ascent of the iconic Sa Calobra. 119k and 2560m with Sa Calobra or 86k and 1579m without it. 3 refreshment stops along the way including lunch.

Return to hotel and evening meal out.

Day 3, November 4th

Exploring the north west Tramuntana.

There are three options which can be decided when we are there.

Option One: Climb Col de Batalle, take the long descent into Pollenca and then ride back past the Caves to Binissalem.

Option Two: Climb Col de Batalle, take the long descent into Pollenca, and carry on going riding to the end of Cap Formentor. This is a dramatic and hilly ride with the cliffs falling away on either side of you and Med stretching as far as you can see. Head back to Puerto Pollenca.

Option 3: Combine both options

3 refreshment stops along the way including lunch.

Return to hotel. Dinner provided out

Day 4, November 5th

Exploring the south west Tramuntana. We have three options:

Option One: This will be a long day riding down the coast through Estellencs and then inland through Puigpunyent. It’s a fantastic day but hard riding. Option to drop Valdemossa climb reduces elevation.

Option Two: Do either route in just one direction and finish in Port Andratx. Take a transfer back to the hotel.

Option Three: Do either of these and then ride into Palma and finish for dinner there.

Full loop ride is 128k and 2300m ascent; one way to Port d’Andratx is 72k and 1300m; or go one way to Palma, 100k and 1600m ascent

3 refreshment stops along the way including lunch.

Return to hotel. Dinner provided out.

Testimonial from a Previous Rider

“I’ve ridden many time on pie events over the years, and I can say without fear of contradiction they are superb. And that word applies to all the essential components of a great trip – the organisation, accommodation, food, guiding, support, location and routing. Oh – I left out the craic and camaraderie as well!”

pie Guides

The Tour is a guided ride with the group being led by a pie guide who is familiar with the terrain and who helps everyone complete the ride. For those not familiar with the pie guiding system:

  • We offer guided rides to make sure we offer the very best care to our cyclists
  • All of our guides are experienced cyclists. They range from ex-professional racers to keen amateurs and all are very used to guiding groups of differing abilities, experience and skills
  • Your guide will navigate a small group of 8 – 10 cyclists from start to finish
  • They are on hand to do mechanical work so there is no waiting around for a mechanic’s van
  • Many pie guides are first aid trained
