pie is pleased to work with St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House Hospices in delivering their second Hit The Downs Mountain Bike ride!
St Barnabas Hospice provides end of life care services, both at the hospice and in the local community, to adults with advanced progressive life-limiting conditions. Chestnut Tree House offers care for children and young adults with progressive life-limiting conditions from Sussex and South East Hampshire. They are the only children’s hospices in East and West Sussex, and care for 280 children and young adults between the ages of 0 and 25 years of age.
With two route options, refreshment stops, mechanical and medical support, this is really a great day out on the Downs!

Two routes will be provided – 30km & 60km. Both will be fully signed.
Following the success of 2017, the St Barnabas House Hospice Hit The Downs ride is back, bigger then ever! Once again starting at Windlesham House School, our route takes you up onto the South Downs, with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. With two route options, the ride is accessible to a wide range of cycling abilities, although you expect a bit of a challenge – there’s no point making things too easy!
The ride is being held exclusively for supporters of St Barnabas and Chestnut Tree House supporters. With plenty of signage, helpful marshals, refreshment stops and on-site parking, this really is a ride not to be missed!

pie are unique in the industry offering only bespoke rides for companies, charities and groups of individuals.
Looking After You
The route will be fully recce’d and will be along a selection of quiet, minor roads and off-road trails making the cycling fun as well as challenging. The large majority of the ride will be off-road, with some short road sections.
The event is fully signed, and the route will be made available in advance for cyclists to download onto their navigation devices. We will also provide two feed stations, giving you a chance to re-fuel and top up your water bottles.
