Gideon Seligman

I’ve been obsessed with cycling and bikes since childhood and that led to looking after a group on my first challenge event in 1992. Since then, I’ve filled just about every role including catering and first aid support, and have been lucky enough to travel to over 40 countries on fundraising events – mainly cycling but a fair amount of trekking and some memorable dog sledding.

Outside my event work I ride whenever I can (road, track, off road and longer tours – this has provided me with the excuse to own a collection of generally questionable bikes!) and have operated a mobile bike shop, made furniture, spent 12 years milking. And I think I’m possibly the only person to have cycled across the parade ground in front of Buckingham Palace…

I’m a qualified mountain bike group leader, Bikeability instructor, BC ride leader, remote and expedition first aider, and can swim 50m of the learner’s pool in good style.
