The Government has published their plans for dealing with the Coronavirus and a link to this information can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
We are taking the British Government’s assessment of the global situation as our guide for our events as well as Public Health England’s information. The Government’s guidance relating to Coronavirus is constantly being updated. The below link has a huge amount of information on it including links to other sites with even more information. Please read as much as possible to find out how you are affected and what you can do about it:
Existing pie Events
Events up to the middle of 2020 have been postponed to later in the year or to 2021. Please check with your company or charity for more information if you have not heard from them.
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has produced information on travel insurance implications following the outbreak. If you have any further questions about your cover or would like further reassurance, you should contact your travel insurance provider.
We don’t sell insurance, but ask with every registration that you have your travel insurance in place asap. Every insurance policy is different and you will have to check what the terms are for your particular insurance policy. You may be able to claim if you choose not to attend an event depending on your insurance.
New pie Events
We are a small and agile company capable of whipping up a new event in a matter of days. Due to the pandemic there are travel restrictions imposed globally but we hope we will see the easing of controls on movements in the next few weeks. In the meantime we continue to be asked for costs and itineraries for later this year and next. We will put together an entire event on paper for you and will not take the deposit until Government restrictions have been lifted so you can be sure your event can go ahead as planned
On Our Events
Recognising how important hygiene is in passing on disease, we have always had hand washing gels available at all of the stops on our events and in our support vans. We encourage people to use these alcohol based gels as frequently as they like when out on the ride. In addition, government advice is to wash hands thoroughly and as often as possible. As we stay in hotels overnight and often stop in bars and village halls for our refreshment stops, there will be plenty of opportunity to wash hands with water along the way. We also use compostable single use cups, plates and cutlery; recyclable tablecloths, napkins, etc to keep all of our cyclists healthy
We hope that you and yours are safe and healthy.
