Paris to Tours

A 2 day ride from Paris to Tours, following in the wheels of the pros as you take on this Autumn Classic and one of the oldest rides in the world! Finishing in the Loire Valley offers the perfect excuse to extend the ride and explore the local vineyards.

This route offers plenty of flexibility and isn’t limited to the example shown here. There are many different ways to do this journey, and we can adapt it to your requirements. The options are endless, what you’ll find below is simply a typical itinerary.

Paris to Beauvais Itinerary

Pre-Event

Travel out to Paris and meet the pie crew at the pre-event hotel. Registration & safety briefings will take place tonight before the evening meal. Of course, we’ll transport your bikes from the UK to Paris for you in advance of the ride.

Day 1

After a hearty breakfast, we head out in our guided groups and hit the road. Following the official route as much as possible, we pass fields of wheat and enter the French countryside. The Paris-Tours pro race is known as one of the quickest on the calendar, as long as the wind is behind you!

We’ll provide morning and afternoon refreshment stops, along with lunch during the day, keeping you well fuelled for the ride.

We stop overnight in Vendôme, with it’s beautiful Abbey and medieval buildings providing the backdrop to a wonderful evening meal.

Day 2

We continue our journey south towards Tours. Again, you’ll ride in your guided groups, meaning you don’t need to worry about navigation or mechanicals. Our guides and support crew take care of that!

Save some energy for the final few kms – there is a bit of a sting in the tail, with a series of hills to conquer as we enter Tours at the end of the day. You’ll toast your success that evening at a wonderful celebration meal.

Day 3

Travel home. Your bikes will be transported back to the UK, ready for your arrival. Of course, you are welcome to extend your stay and explore the local area. Tours is known as the gateway for exploring the stunning chateaux of the Loire Valley region!

They always have things organised and when something isn’t quite right it is fixed quickly and with lots of communication. Paul and the team were brilliant in Slovenia with us all. The 3 person pie team - a trip co-ordinator, ride guide, and on-bike medic - were all top professionals as well as great fun. It was another great trip which the whole team enjoyed. Whether Medical, Portering, Providing Food (paying attention to dietary requirements) and Drink (morning coffee, regular rehydration electrolyte tabs, soft drinks at lunch, alcoholic beverages at the end of the day - if you like that sort of thing), excellent hotels & restaurants, - all needs catered for.

Staff - highly sympathetic & empathetic - who convert a steep hill into a mere undulation. All staff  were immaculately turned out in identical uniforms.

Bike maintenance - Brilliant
Route planning - beautiful lanes, B roads, cycle paths - superb routes.

Overall - excellent management throughout, with high empathy and support for all participants (including a cat!!).
